Did you see one of those cooking shows where they had cucumbers growing for the supermarket orders and they had to be a certain length and straight to fit into supermarket shelves. Also, I read in the latest Diggers catalogue that a certain type of rhubarb was no longer stocked by supermarkets because its stems were too long for the shelves. Gah!
