Girly

Only another week or two until the book I am editing goes to print. Y-A-Y! I can't wait for it to be done. I have been cramming work into every single spare minute, but that's OK. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

I did take some time this morning to photograph the little girl sitting on our woollen underlay as we changed the sheets on our bed.

It's funny, I rarely dress her in dresses or pinafores or girly outfits. It's mostly little trousers and tops, or one-piece suits. Perhaps that's what comes of having a boy first? I'm not sure. Whenever she's in a dress or outfit I imagine she feels like I do when I wear my 'good' clothes or work clothes. I can't wait to get them off and get into something comfy!!

Blossom is quite cross that I dressed her "like a boy" when she was a baby. I explain, however, that I was just dressing her in comfortable clothes and that she would try to tear off dresses and anything with frills or unecessary ties. Girly clothes look gorgeous but are just so impractical most of the time. How can you crawl in a dress?

Yes, crawling in a dress looks very difficult. I love the idea that a baby might feel constrained by being in her 'good' clothes and was really just hanging out to get comfy in the tracky dacks. I always feel like that about bras.

I dress MissL if not in bodysuits, then in dresses. Dunno why, just do - I guess the climate here is my reason why. Once she begins to crawl I can see it being an issue so she may have to resort to bodysuits & skirts.

Miss T is growing up lovely. And what a mighty fine sitting pose she has. Pity we live so far away from one another...

She's a beautiful little girl!!! I imagine if I had a girl she would mostly be in jeans and sleepsuits too, much more practical than dresses! Well done on getting to the end of your project, you'll have so much more time to yourself again!

oh she is so yummy...
if it's any consolation- as you know I only have a girl and I rarely put her in dresses when she was little because they are hard to crawl in- still to this day it's usually leggings and comfy blouses as per her request.
the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree in this department.

BTW that is the most cozy looking woolly bed thingy I've ever seen.
How do you get out of bed in the morning?!
